The new album – Trouble In Mind – which was just released this year 2025, can be said to be a sister album to Punch, as it is similar in format, i.e. seven original songs mixed with three evergreen covers in unusual arrangements, where the unbridled primal power of blues-rock is enjoyed, but you still never know what awaits you around the corner.

To top it all off, the album also features great guests, three amazing female musicians who lend a hand here and elevate the work to another and higher level with their artistry and presence. These are Bryndís Ásmundsdóttir, singer, Brynhildur Oddsdóttir, guitarist, and Unnur Birna Björnsdóttir, violinist.

Raw garage-blues-rock can perhaps be used to describe the music on GG blús’ first album, Punch, which was released in the spring of 2019.

It contains seven original songs and three covers, where the bluesy guitar riffs meets the bombastic drum beats and passionate vocal lines floats along with jagged lyrics and sound fragments.

The challenge for the duo was to make the music succeed by using only drums, guitar and vocals. Channeling the spirit of minimalism and the playing style they had developed during the past, performing in bars and rock clubs – Staying true to the blues tradition yet responsive to modern times.

The album also features three good guests, Sigurður Sigurðsson on harmonica, Jens Hansson on saxophone and the punk-blues-legend Mike Pollock, who sings and writes one opus with them.

Some songs from the album caught the listeners’ hearts, especially Touching The Void, a dynamic song in a brisk mid-tempo that deals with the resurrection after staying in utter darkness for a while.
